For over 25 years, Club Serenity has helped meet the needs of people seeking a supportive, non-judgmental experience as they strive to free themselves from alcohol and drug addiction. We are run by a group of dedicated volunteers who used their own skills and resources to build its reputation.  Continuing the Club’s mission is essential. The impact of the opioid public health crisis in Southwestern PA is well documented. According to the PA Opioid Overdose Reduction Technical Assistance Center, the 2016 drug related overdose death rate for the state was 36.6 (per 100,000) and 16.3 nationwide.  For Charleroi, that rate was 87.04. As the Opioid crisis took hold several years ago, Club Serenity was there to provide help to those who needed it.

On average, 400 people come through the club’s doors weekly. Club Serenity provides those with alcohol and substance abuse issues with an introduction to recovery meetings and supportive services. They can also lean on us for substance-free fellowship and recreational activities on our property and in the nearby communities. We have many members that are in long-term recovery who are also active in their club membership. These individuals provide direct support to their peers and help them find formal treatment and support that is provided by local, state, and federal human service agencies.
